Many times in shower design there is a need for a barrier free shower. In a lot of cases this could be for reasons that a shower needs to be ADA compliant.
Wedi has offered a solution for this problem with our ADA compliant shower ramps. This has solved many design issues simply and with cost efficiency. However, in some bathrooms there is not room for a ramp because of a vanity, toilet, or a closet door. The only remaining solution has been to recess the shower base which involves cutting structural joists and the obvious hassles that accompany that solution.
There is now another option that is much less costly, does not require a ramp, no structural issues with cutting joists and is easily installed. The NEW Wedi Fundo Ligno BARRIER FREE shower base. This new technology allows the Wedi shower base to be only ¾ of an inch thick to match up with most subfloor thicknesses. The slope will still be maintained at ¼ inch per foot and so the base will drain perfectly. This is possible using new technology and engineering the drain area to be stronger through use of reinforcing on the backside of the pan. This new pan design is available in 4 sizes, 3 x 4, 3 x 5, 4 x 4 and 4 x 5. Outside of the shower area we recommend using our Subliner Dry membrane to ensure a leak free floor.
This new product will also allow more free flowing tile design, barrier free entry, structural simplicity and at an economical cost with all of the Wedi advantages. Masonry & Glass Systems stocks all 4 Wedi LIgno Floor Level Showers for immediate shipment.
